Authors' Day is in ONE WEEK!  I can hardly believe it.  It's going to be a GREAT day here at SIS, and it won't have to end there either!  Lisa Graff is running a competition to celebrate her new book (buy your own copy from the PTA and have it autographed on Authors' Day!).

Are you getting excited about Authors' Day yet?  How about entering an Authors' Day Competition to get ready?  You can write 3-5 interview questions for Lisa Graff, Peter Lourie, or Brian Pinkney to maybe win the chance to do a TV interview with them for real!  Or you can create a nametag for one of our special guests using an index card!

I'm so excited about our upcoming Authors' Day Celebration!  I hope you're getting ready by reading as many of these authors' books as you can get your hands on!  And don't forget, you can get any books you own autographed on our big day!  Don't have any of their books yet?  You can always buy a book from the PTA - in fact, here's the preorder form!  Be sure to get it to your teacher by March 27th.

If you love to read and/or listen to public radio with your parents, you need to know about a new book club being offered by NPR!
Every month your family can read a book together and hear special programs on NPR about what you're reading.
In November, NPR is featuring one of my all-time favorite books, The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster. Let me know if you read it...
